Northern States Basement Systems
I joined Northern States in 2015, and somehow turned crawlspaces and foundations into a full-blown career. With over a decade of hands-on experience in crawlspace, basement, and foundation repair, I’ve pretty much seen it all—and crawled through most of it. Over the past 11 years, my skills (and patience) have been tested in just about every challenging condition you can imagine.
What keeps me passionate about this work is that moment when a homeowner sees the finished result and realizes their problem is officially handled. That never gets old. I also love that no two days—or crawlspaces—are ever the same. Just when you think you’ve seen the toughest one, another proves you wrong.
One job I’ll never forget was a crawlspace under a large cabin that was only about a foot and a half high. That’s right—army crawling, in the dark, in the damp, wondering if I should’ve brought a snorkel. It was tight, messy, and definitely earned a spot on the “character-building” list. But seeing that space transform from something you didn’t want to look at into a clean, dry, impressive area? That made every inch of crawling worth it. Those are the jobs that remind me why I love what I do.
When I’m not underground, I’m outdoors—hiking or riding my four-wheeler and enjoying fresh air at full standing height.
