I joined Northern States Basement Systems in June of last year and hit the ground running. I was originally hired as a laborer—but thanks to my background in concrete and general construction, I didn’t stay in that lane for long. Before I knew it, I was taking on more responsibility and moving up quickly. Turns out, pouring residential footings and repairing highway and interstate concrete is pretty solid experience (no pun intended… okay, maybe a little intended).
My background covers everything from general construction to heavy-duty concrete work, which gave me a strong technical foundation and a versatile skill set. Basically, if it involves getting my hands dirty and building something that lasts, I’m in my element.
These days, I manage my crew and keep busy installing basement waterproofing systems, crawl space encapsulations, sump pumps, and wall bracing systems. I also handle service calls and whatever else the day decides to throw at us. No two days are ever the same—and that’s part of the fun. I take a lot of pride in doing high-quality work, staying efficient, and making sure every job is done right the first time.
What I enjoy most is helping homeowners protect and improve their properties. There’s something satisfying about stepping back at the end of a project and knowing we made a real difference. I genuinely love carpentry and concrete work, and the hands-on, physical side of the job keeps things interesting (and keeps me in shape).
When I’m off the clock, you’ll usually find me outside—hiking with my girlfriend and our dog, hunting for agates, fishing, or spending time with family. If it involves fresh air and a little adventure, I’m all in.
