We waterproofed the basement and one component of the system installed was the WaterGuard French Drain. WaterGuard is installed above the footing the home foundation. Water collects in the French drain and directs it straight to the sump pump system.

 WaterGuard French Drain was the first system installed in this Plymouth Meeting, PA home when we began the process of a full perimeter waterproofing system. WaterGuard collects water seeping in from the foundation walls and up from the floor. The water is captured inside and directed straight into the sump pump pit, keeping the basement dry and healthy. 

After this Southampton, PA basement flooded, the bottom half of the finished walls had to be removed from water damage. Once the basement was waterproofed, our team replaced the damage drywall with our EverLast Restoration Wall. This half wall panel has built in insulation to create a more comfortable environment downstairs. 

To properly waterproof a basement, it starts with a trusted French drain channel. WaterGuard is installed above the footing to this homes foundation which is considered out of the mud-zone. This prevents clogging and allows the water to flow easily into the sump pump pit. As you can see, the after picture shows the WaterGuard system in the channel before the concrete is pored over to secure it in place. the lid top on the right is to safely flood test the system in the future to ensure its functioning properly.
