This tall crawl space was used for general storage space. As the years went by, the area began to emit a musty odor. While no major mold issues were found, it did need to be spot treated and to prevent mold issues, we encapsulated the area. 

These homeowners reached out to John's because they wanted to create safe, reliable storage space for their belongings, but their crawl space was not reliable. They scheduled their free visit and we went out and thoroughly inspected the crawl space, working with the homeowner in creating the best options for them. We decided on encapsulation. This system stops moisture, controls humidity, prevents mold and keeps pests out, giving the homeowners peace of mind when it came to their personal belongings.

We began this project by removing all of the debris, and making sure all of the vents get covered and sealed shut to prevent outside air from entering. Then, since there was not much moisture in this crawl space we install our SmartDrain which alerts the homeowner of a possible leak with an audible alarm, draining away the water into a drywell. On the floor of the crawl space, we install our TerraBlock ground insulation and our CleanSpace 20 mil thick barrier on top. This material is also anchored into the foundation walls up to the rim joists and between each post and footing. We then install our EverLast Door to create exterior access into this crawl space. To keep the environment controlled we install our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier that will effectively eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air all while keeping the space at a healthy relative humidity. Lastly, this project is completed by adding wall insulation. We use foam insulation and this is sprayed up to the rim joists, expanding and filling every crack and void ensuring an airtight seal. Now that this encapsulation is complete, these homeowners can comfortably store their belongings without worry of damage.

Water coming through the basement walls and crawlspace. Which is causing a very musty smell to travel into the rest of the home. So we encapsulated the crawl space and isolated the piers to prevent any caving in of the baseboards.
