Crawl Space Moisture Problem and Standing Water Concerns

A homeowner in Tupelo, MS had standing water in the crawl space, concerns about mold, and wanted a long-term moisture control solution after moving into the home less than a week earlier. The crawl space covered roughly 1,000 square feet beneath part of the home and had unusually tall perimeter walls, with some areas reaching about 8 feet high. During the inspection, our team found that water was moving toward the back section of the crawl space, where an existing sump pump had already been tied into plumbing lines. The homeowner wanted better peace of mind, improved indoor air quality, and confidence that the crawl space would not create future moisture, mold, or structural problems.

Full Crawl Space Encapsulation and Drainage Solution

Redeemers Group completed a full crawl space encapsulation system, removed approximately 1,100 square feet of old roll insulation, and cleared debris that included an old vapor barrier, glass bottles, and broken brick. The crew installed CleanSpace vapor barrier throughout the crawl space, wrapped piers, covered the perimeter walls, and used SilverGlo insulation to help partition and seal openings near the front porch and rear porch areas. The existing sump pump was replaced and discharged out the back of the home with an additional 25 feet of discharge line. A second standalone sump pump was installed beneath the rear patio area, and the encapsulation around that pump was made removable so the system could still be accessed for service. Where standing water was found away from the sump location, the team trenched between the wet area and the sump to help direct water toward proper drainage.

Regina had us out about a year ago because she had flooding into her basement from the outside.
