Encapsulating a Crawl Space in West Stockbridge, MA

This homeowner in West Stockbridge, MA reached out to us hoping to talk about her home. She claimed that "everything was cold" in her home. She wanted to insulate the basement to prevent the cold from entering the home. She additionally had a crawl space that was causing issues with energy efficiency, and she had musty odors. We were able to help this customer! One of the solutions we utilized was our CleanSpace™ crawl space encapsulation system. We first insulated the walls using our SilverGlo™ foam insulation. For the floor, we added a dimpled drainage mat to create a thermal break. Then, we installed a CleanSpace™ crawl space encapsulation liner over the drainage mat. We fastened it into both the walls and floor to create a permanent solution for this crawl space. We then added two-part expanding spray foam to the rim joist to ensure that the crawl space was covered. The spray foam was also used to seal and insulate around the CleanSpace™ liner in spaces where it was unable to be sealed using our traditional methods. Combined with our other solutions, this homeowner will experience less drafts, warmer floors, lower energy bills, and a much more comfortable home!

Adding Support to a Home in Stockbridge, MA

This homeowner in Stockbridge, MA reached out to us because he had a mold issue under his home. The underside of his floors were open to the outside air, and while there was insulation, he thought there was an issue with it. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that while there was a big mold problem, the bigger problem was the lack of support under the home. The supports had been badly damaged by the humidity, and they needed to be fortified in some areas and outright replaced in others. We were able to help this customer! She also wanted it to be an insulated door specifically. We had the perfect solution for this customer. In this solution, we installed an insulated exterior door. The proper framing is installed, followed by a new door with a locking knob. Insulating a Basement in West Hatfield, MA

This homeowner in West Hatfield, MA reached out to us looking for help with her basement. She wanted to have her insulation checked, and she had radon mitigation concerns. We had the perfect solution for this customer! We utilized two-part expanding spray foam. We insulated the rim joist (the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the home). We spray this foam in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Insulating the rim joist in this way seals all air leaks -- filling in the cracks and gaps that are present there. This prevents outside air from getting into the home. The homeowner is excited to be more comfortable in her home!
