Thomas Fountain joined Atlanta Basement Systems after a rewarding decade as a teacher and coach, where he spent 10 years mentoring middle and high school students in basketball and baseball. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University and a master’s from the University of Alabama, though he’s quick to let everyone know he’s a Georgia Bulldog at heart! In addition to his background in education, Thomas has over three years of sales experience and a solid foundation in the construction industry.

 

Since joining Atlanta Basement Systems, Thomas has undergone extensive training, earning certifications like "Certified Waterproofing Specialist" from Basement Systems International and "Certified Foundation Specialist" from Supportworks. His attention to detail and people-focused approach ensure that homeowners feel confident and well-informed throughout their projects.

 

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys hunting, fishing, going to sporting events, and spending quality time with his family.

The CleanSpace encapsulation system was installed to the crawl space, and sealed the area off from the Earth. Not only does it keep the moisture out of the crawl space, keeping it dry, it is also antimicrobial. This ensure that mold will no longer grow in the space, providing further peace of mind for the homeowner.
A sump pump prevents water from accumulating in the basement or crawl space, reducing the risk of a floor.
All of these components work together to waterproof and protect the home, ensuring maximum efficiency.
In this picture you can see where the water has been leaking into this basement, and this can lead to many different issues. When moisture seeps through the foundation walls or floors it can weaken the buildings structural integrity, promote mold growth and will also lead to damage of a family's personal belongings. Excess moisture in the basement over time can lead to increased humidity levels impacting the indoor air quality circulating throughout the home.
This picture is depicting how the WaterGuard is installed into the home. A section of the original concrete of the basement is dug out, and then the WaterGuard is placed. The gravel is surrounding the WaterGuard, because it allows the water to filter through, while filtering out any sediment that may cause a blockage in the WaterGuard. Our crew then places a thin layer of concrete back over the top of the WaterGuard so that it is not visible in the space. Once the concrete dries down, there will be no signs that changes were ever made, which allows for keeping up with appearances.
This picture is depicting the sag in the garage door lintel. The foundation has settled and it has caused the cracks around the garage door and the lintel to sag. This was fixed with a garage door lintel lift.
Efflorescence is the white substance that is pictured, and this is a direct result from the damage the water in the basement has caused.
This is where the water was entering this customers basement through the existing wall anchors. You can see where this customer had attempted at ceasing the problem himself using different strategies, but he was still dealing with the same problems.
