The house has a basement with a normal height ceiling, however, at the back is a small area that is maybe 8 x 10 that has three walls of poured concrete foundation and on the wall inside the basement is a knee wall that is about 4 feet high. This strange little area has a dirt floor that is filled from about 2 feet from floor at the back to about 1 foot below the knee wall. It is open to the rest of the basement which has poured concrete walls and a concrete floor, regular old walk out basement, studded for rooms with electric etc. Does this need to be encapsulated? There was no sump pump or any drainage that we could see. Just strange to have this dirt pit room in the basement.

But I would like to obtain two or three firm estimates from reputable firms. The garage area already has a sump collection system installed by B-Dry about 20 yrs ago that may be able to be used to collect crawl space water. Would you be interested in looking at this project?
