Interested in purchasing a new home but during the tour and inspection we noticed a weird smell in the basement. Initially we thought it was just the old carpet, but then the inspector found a crawl space which is known to be a haven for dampness, hence the smell. Before i make a purchase on the home i'd like to know if this dampness/smell could be managed with your system. and if so how much would it cause to get it fixed up and i don't have to worry about an odor due to moisture. The previous owner has a small humidifier always running in the basement, but i don't think that would be effective.
