In order to control water from the perimeter of the basement, we installed a DryTrak baseboard system and epoxied it to the concrete floor. The system was installed around the full basement perimeter and set to discharge into the SuperSump.
To help stabilize the bowing foundation walls, we drove 19 galvanized steel rods through the foundation out to anchor plates that we placed in the ground. We fill those anchor plate holes full of concrete to reinforce the strength of the anchor. To tackle the seepage concerns, we installed 124 feet of WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. This system would drain into a SuperSump pump, and it would then be ejected from the home through a discharge.
Due to the large volume of water and length of the system, we installed a new SuperSump in front of the property and ran new plumbing. In addition, we installed a new Zoeller M-98 Sump Pump in the existing large basin to help with the large capacity of water. We also ran a new 4 inch PVC lateral drain between the existing large sump pump basin and the replacement SuperSump to help alleviate more water pressure under the floor, and to help tie the sump basins together as a back up to each other. The WaterGuard solution is designed to control perimeter water from the cove joint and redirect that water to a sump pit. The Zoeller 1/3 HP sump pump will eject water out a discharge line we buried and covered back with soil.
This Michigan City, Indiana crawlspace needed a vapor barrier, to help prevent wood rot, and mold growth.
To help stabilize the west bowing foundation wall, we augered holes on the property, away from the foundation. Then, inside the home, we drove a 3/4", galvanized steel rods through anchor plates which are secured to the inside wall. The steel rods were then connected to an earth anchor - reinforced with rebar and concrete - inside the hole on the property.
We installed adjustable steel jack posts in the basement to help support the floor structure of the property.
We installed a Waterguard system around the full perimeter of the basement, dewatering the floor and wall joint, to prevent hydrostatic pressure below the floor. In the south west wall of the basement, near the sink, the SuperSump pump system was installed. The discharge plumbing was ran through the foundation wall into an IceGuard, and was buried 35 feet away from the foundation into a drywell.
