Parkville, MD 21234Our house has an addition to it with a crawlspace under the addition. We have been renting the house for years but are in the process of buying it. The inspector found a lot of animal droppings and the smell of urine in the crawlspace and the insulation has fallen out. We need the crawlspace to be cleaned out and the insulation to be replaced and secured, and the entryways for the rats to stop infesting the crawlspace.

Parkville, MD 21234Like to save energy by getting things done in crawl space. I have a floor covering that's from 1956 and I have fiberglass insulation (only 8 years old) in floor joists. Possibly up to 5 things in space maybe necessary: floor joist insulation covered/blanketed, floor sealed or insulated, walls insulated, air vents blocked and air tight crawl space door. I live on top of a hill, so flooding is not an issue. I'm not sure if moisture is though. Crawl space smell usually not to bad. Like to know how to balance energy savings infrastructure to moisture mitigation infrastructure. I lean towards energy savings.
