Waterproofing a Crawlspace in Toomsuba, Mississippi

This crawlspace in Toomsuba was holding moisture and mold, causing buckling floors inside the home. Our team treated the mold and installed our waterproofing encapsulation. This should eventually help the floors settle back down in the home. While we can't guarantee this, we've found they do lay down in most cases. Now this crawlspace is cleaned out, free of moisture, and insulated from our encapsulation system.

Mold and Moisture in Vidalia, LA Crawlspace

This home in Louisiana was having mold and moisture problems in the crawlspace due to insulation holding water. Like a sponge, insulation will absorb water and hold on to it, nestling it close to the subfloor and joists. This leads to a bigger issue because wood + water = rot. Having a dry crawlspace is necessary to maintaining the life of your home. Once we removed the problematic insulation, we encapsulated the space leaving no room for moisture to creep in. Not only does our system free the crawlspace up to stay healthy, it also insulates it by completely sealing off every opening and crevice. So the need for insulation is now obsolete.

When these homeowners reached out to us they told us that not just crawl space moisture, but standing water had been a problem for a long time. Any time it would rain the crawl space would fill with different spots of water, and the constant mildew smell would just get worse. They tried to solve this with a standard sump pump, but it just couldn't keep up, and the problems continued. They had already done a little research into encapsulations and was hoping we could have someone explain it to them a bit more. We gladly sent out one of our system design specialists, who not only did a thorough inspection of the entire crawl space, but took plenty of extra time to sit down with the curious homeowners and explain the benefits of encapsulation in depth. Fast forward a bit, and now we have our whole system installed under the home doing exactly what they had dreamed about. The underside is sealed and wrapped, and our triplesafe sump pump is doing the job that the last one could not!

Once dried, LumberKote forms a resilient and hardy micro-film that protects your wood from moisture problems, saving you money down the road. This homeowner wasn't ready for a full encapsulation, and opted to just have our LumberKote sealer installed. Once sprayed, the LumberKote dries with a satin, semi-transparent orange finish. It's a MUST product for every conventional foundation!
