The owner before us had a ton of house plants inside and an interesting A/C moisture drip-off system that used PVC pipes to deposit the extra water to her outside plants. When we went to move furniture around the living room about 1 week ago, there was visible...sweat? on the hardwood floor near the window. The fabric couches felt wet to the touch. Justin purchased a hygrometer and it showed the humidity inside the home was 75% after 2 hours of testing. He also purchased a 2-pint dehumidifier. After 1 day of dehumidifying, he has about 1/3rd of the collection tank full of water. The air conditioner is set at 71 degrees F but the humidity makes the air feel sticky and warm anyway. Checking back on our home inspection report, the company indicated next to the Crawl Space that it was "Acceptable: Unable to Inspect: 45% - Not all of the crawlspace could be inspected due to crawlspace height." They also wrote, "Subfloor: Subfloor could not view due to cancellation." I am concerned for the structural integrity of our home and have health concerns relating to the high moisture levels. The floors are sweating enough that someone could slip on them.
