Are you sick and tired of seeing your New Jersey home's monthly energy bill skyrocket during those cold winter or hot summer months? If the answer is YES, read on and you will find answers on how to avoid unnecessary home repairs, create a healthier living space, and save money on your utility bills.
When it comes to home energy saving, many people tend to focus on what they can do in their main living areas, such as window replacement or appliance upgrade, etc. What's always neglected is the space underneath your house - your crawl space.
The house is one building. It operates as a system. You can't have one part of the building that is sick, and another part that is healthy. You can't rationalize that you never go in the crawl space so you aren't affected by it. Why? Simple. Air mixing.
The crawl space air is cold in winter and hot summer. It is in your building envelope and gets upstairs in one of two ways - the stack effect, or the HVAC system through your ducts. If your crawl space is vented, those vents let hot, wet, or cold air in, making your floors cold upstairs in winter and hot in summer.
To eliminate the dirt crawl space from having any negative effects on the rest of the house, Basement Systems, the world leader in dry basement and crawl space technology, developed the CleanSpace System, a ultimate solution to vented dirt crawl spaces. The CleanSpace system completely isolates your home from the earth, dramatically reducing the humidity level in the air and in some cases, eliminating mold growth, rot, and critters from your crawl space to make the entire house healthier. And once you encapsulate your crawl space with our patented vapor barrier system, you will even gain valuable storage space in your home.
From the New Jersey Skylands to the Gateway, the Delaware River and Shore regions to Greater Atlantic City and the Southern Shore, there will be Basement Systems' crawl space contractors available in your neighborhood to provide you with our patented crawl space products and quality service! Comment: Hello. I have a crawlspace that is poorly insulated. Through an outdoor access door (doorway dimensions about 20" x 21"), I can see that the old fiberglass insulation is falling down and falling apart. I took a couple pictures, but can't attach them on this form as I would with a normal email. I'm not sure the exact overall dimensions of the crawlspace, but I believe it is about 12ft x 23ft. I would like an estimate on the costs to have the old junk ripped out of there and new insulation installed. Email or Text Message would be the best way to contact me. Thank you.

Comment: The house is 80 years old and I have only owned it a few months. I have cleaned the basement walls and flooring. I have installed a new sump pump and hose, added a dehumidifier, run a fan down there, and keep lights on during the nights. Still there is an odor when you come in the front door. Perhaps from one of the two crawl spaces. One is visible and accessible. The other is not.
