As the water soaks into the block walls, the left-over minerals make it difficult for the paint to stay on the blocks.
The water that this wall absorbs floods the basement and risks rotting the wood shelves against it.
Our interior drainage system, WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement to capture water at its entry point - before it ever has the chance to touch the basement floors! The basement walls were then wrapped in our CleanSpace. Made from a 20mil thick, 7-layer polyethylene composition, our CleanSpace is the most durable vapor barrier around! Once installed, it seals, covers, and protects the basement walls from any moisture or humidity - providing a more dry and healthy environment throughout.
The exposed block wall and loosely laying plastic is not an effective way to protect a crawl space. It allows many ways for water vapor to get into the crawl space's air.
Buried downspouts are added to the ends of the gutter discharge lines to direct water a safe distance away from the home.
Slight efflorescence was starting to form on the block in this crawl space indicating increased water seepage.
The water seepage behind this sheetrock was rotting the frame and seeping into the basement.
The exposed ground made it easy for moisture to raise the humidity and form mold on the organic material.
