AfterProblem: These homeowners were experiencing a problem prevalent in homes that have an open dirt floor crawl space: - High humidity, resulting in a musty smelling home - Cold floors in the winter - High heating and cooling bills as they were continually heating and cooling the outdoor air which was making its way into the crawl space. Solution: We sealed off the crawl space, encapsulating it with our Clean Space® Vapour Barrier, including the support columns. AfterChallenge: These homeowners’ crawl space was always damp and humid, creating musty smells in the home. Solution: This home is in a low-lying area with a high water table. Here’s what we did: We levelled the uneven ground and installed drainage matting which helps move water into the newly installed crawl space sump pump, the SmartSump™. To seal the crawl space from the ground and the outside environment, we installed our super heavy-duty vapour barrier and sealed to the exterior walls with spray foam insulation.
