  I want to get some crawlspace-repair type work and a vapor barrier / crawl space encapsulation. I have a dirt-floor crawlspace under half of my house, and a partially finished basement on the other half. There was no access to the crawlspace. I recently had an access hole cut through my living room floor, so that the crawlspace may finally be accessed for the first time possibly since the home was built in 1950. There is a large mound of dirt in the center and large trenches near the cinder block edges. Lots of construction debris and rocks too. Someone would need to clean up and level the dirt surface enough to install the vapor barrier in an effective/sturdy way. My ultimate end-goal is radon remediation, but I don't think that a radon remediation contractor would do as good of a job at the general crawlspace repair and cleanup as a dedicated crawlspace specialist.
