Evansville CleanSpace Installation
Here, you can see a nasty, old vapor barrier that has torn and become covered in mold. Not only that, but the barrier itself has pulled away from the walls and wrinkled up to the point that it is not functional. The homeowners noticed that their mold problem had reoccurred and that the relative humidity in the crawlspace was still too high. They opted to contact Healthy Spaces and have a free estimate performed. During the estimate and evaluation process, the homeowners elected to have CleanSpace engineered film installed because of its great warranty and durability. Now, they have isolated their crawlspace from the outside air, reduced their overall relative humidity, and created a conditioned crawlspace. All in all, they have been impressed by lower heating and cooling bills, a more comfortable home, and a brighter, cleaner crawlspace!
New Access Well for a Crawl Space in Evansville, IN
In Evansville, IN, the homeowner needed an updated and tightly sealed access door. Many crawl spaces have access wells from the outside. Some access doors are made of plywood, which is not recommended because since it is close to the ground, it will rot. If it is made of plywood, bugs will eat at it and weathering will cause the plywood to warp. If the access door is outside, it is suggested to have an inorganic material to cover the space rather than organic.
The EverLast access well is an all-plastic door that won't rot, warp, or need paint. Knobs screw into anchors in the wall to draw the door tight against weather stripping to seal off outside air. Animals and other living things will not be able to enter the space since it is tightly sealed. It is important to seal off openings so that any type of weather is not able to enter the crawl space and disrupt the dry climate. A new access door creates peace of mind for the homeowner, knowing that animals or different weather climates were not able to escape inside the space.
Air Sealing & Encapsulation of Crawl Space in Evansville, IN
In Evansville, IN a homeowner reached out to us because their floors felt bouncy above the crawlspace and they wanted to learn more about encapsulation. During our inspection, we found floor joists that were stretched too far, water seeping into the crawlspace, mold growing on the wood, and debris adding to the moisture problem. To fix it, we treated and cleaned the affected wood, removed all debris, installed drainage matting under the CleanSpace liner, added SilverGlo insulation to the walls, spray foamed the rim joists to help seal out air, and sealed the crawlspace vents from the inside. The result is a cleaner, drier crawlspace and a stronger, more protected home overall.
Water Puddles in the Crawl Space, in Sebree, KY
A family reached out to us from Sebree, KY, exclaiming that their crawl space was remaining damp and after heavy rain, there was standing water present on the ground of the crawl space. The family needed the crawl space to be sealed and treated in hopes to create a dry space. Standing water in the crawl space was an apparent issue that needed to be taken care of, such as the access well openings that were not closed properly. If access well openings are not properly sealed, water and outside air can seep through, damaging the home's health. When there s standing water inside any home, it is urgent to find the problem and create a solution.
The water leakage culprit was poorly tightened and sealed access wells that were located outside of the crawl space. The access wells were repaired by putting new covers to keep out any water or outside air. CleanSpace, which is a 20 mil, bright white liner, that is laid across the crawl space floor to provide a vapor barrier for the space. The liner prevents air and water from entering the atmosphere of the crawl space, which will resolve the standing water issue. A SmartSump pump and SaniDry Sedona are installed to pump water out of the crawl space and to create a continuous dry air flow. With a dry crawl space, the family is guaranteed to have a healthy home without unsafe risks.
