This homeowner in Norwell, MA was confused at the musty smell he was whiffing in from his kitchen. Come to find out, it was from his crawl space since it was so humid! Any humid environment can lead to mold growth and musty odors. So, to save this crawl space, we covered the whole interior with our CleanSpace vapor barrier system! A homeowner in Norwell, MA gave us a call because the crawl space beneath their home was very damp and in need of new insulation as well as encapsulation. The homeowner was concerned about mold growth because of how much moisture was built up in the space and they also told us that the existing fiberglass insulation was deteriorating and causing a mess. Our inspector, David, went to the home to check out the crawl space and he drew up a solution that would transform it. On installation day, our crew removed the debris that was in the space and then sprayed our Mold-X2 spray to clean and prevent mold going forward. They laid down drainage matting over the dirt floor to allow any water to flow under and out instead of pooling inside. Then they re-insulated the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation to regulate temperature and this insulation does not deteriorate over time like fiberglass. The crew then fully encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier and installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep humidity low year-round. Now the homeowner can have nothing but peace of mind when it comes to their home's crawl space!

This crawlspace in Scituate, MA was very wet! The fiberglass insulation was soaked through and through, it looked like melted cotton candy on the crawlspace floor. The existing vapor barrier did nothing to improve the condition in the crawlspace. We removed all the debris from the crawlspace and wrapped it with a 20 mil vapor barrier called CleanSpace.
