There was a homeowner from Woonsocket, RI that was having water in his unfinished basement. Both him and his wife were not physically fit to keep bending over and scooping water out of their basement, so they wanted a sump pump system to help them get rid of water. It didn't take long for our inspector to write up a solution, once the agreement was made, the crew went on to install a TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. This high powered pumping system is equipped with three pumps, one of them being a battery backup one to activate in case this homeowner loses power. In addition, we helped reduce the humidity by applying CleanSpace water vapor barrier onto the walls to stop moisture from entering the space.
When this homeowner found an wall crack in his basement, he knew it was an area of concern. It was more than a half inch wide, which is an alarming sight since anything bigger than 1/4 of an inch can be bad. We ensured that no water would pass through this intrusion point by having a service technician perform a FlexiSpan wall crack repair procedure where he cleaned the wall, applied flexible polyurethane and dug a drywell at the bottom for proper drainage. This homeowner in Woonsocket, RI gave us a call because they were tired of finding water in their basement after every heavy rainfall. They utilized their basement for laundry and storage, so it was really important that it stayed dry. Our inspector, Jake, came up with a solution that would give the homeowner peace of mind going forward. Foreman Lucio and his crew started waterproofing the basement by installing our CleanSpace wall system along each wall to corral the water permeating the wall into the WaterGuard drainage system which was installed along the floor's perimeter to collect the groundwater. That water is then channeled into the SuperSump Plus sump pump. The SuperSump Plus sends all of the collected water out of the basement through a discharge line. On the outside of the home, the IceGuard discharge line system was set up to prevent water from flooding back into the basement if the discharge line ever gets clogged or freezes in the winter. The homeowner is so relieved that they won't be finding water in their basement ever again.
This previously finished basement in Maynard, MA was taking in water along the foundation wall/floor joints, and in several spots throughout the foundation floor. The homeowners did have a sump pump installed, but it just wasn't keeping up with how much they were taking in. Our inspector, Michael C, performed a thorough evaluation on this basement to determine what the needs would be to keep it dry and allow it to be finished once again. One of the most crucial items on that list was replacing the existing sump with our TripleSafe sump pump system. With three pumps, including the batter operated back up pump, these homeowners won't need to worry again whether it will be enough to keep up! They are well prepared thanks to DryZone!
