In Ankeny, Iowa the concrete settled and created a tripping hazard on the sidewalk. They did not want anyone to get hurt. We used Polylevel foam to level out the slabs and we used NexusPro joint sealant to caulk the joints so no water gets in underneath the slab.
Bob was doing some remodeling in his home and wanted the foundation of the room supported. He had a crawlspace under the area that had been neglected for years. He heard great things from Thrasher Foundation Repair and needed help. After cleaning out the crawlspace, James and his team installed SmartJacks and CleanSpace and insured the integrity of the home.
This customer reached out to us because her seawall next to her yard and home was falling toward the lake. She didn't want to have to deal with the cost and hassle of replacing it if and when it fell all the way in.
When we performed an inspection, we concluded the seawall was falling toward the lake because it had no support on one side and a lot of pressure from the soil on the other.
This isn't a typical job for us, but we are always happy to take on a challenge and solve a unique problem. To fix the wall, we installed GeoLock anchors to secure the wall on the side of the water. This will give that added support on the side that didn't have anything and will prevent the pressure from the soil from caving in.
This homeowner was worried that her retaining wall would fall and her deck to collapse as they were both unsteady. She knew after having used our services in the past that we would be able to help ease these worries and find solutions for her again, so she gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Brock Scott to inspect the retaining wall and deck structures in order to thoroughly understand the problems and design solutions to stabilize the structure. When inspecting for the problem, Brock noticed that the house appeared to have significant water damage to the wooden support wall as well as weakened soil due to soil washout. He knew that this damage would not be beneficial for supporting the deck, so he found that new support posts and anchors were needed. One of our installation teams came to the home and started to utilize SmartJacks to reinforce the deck supports and to support the roof structure in that area. After that, they utilized GeoLock Wall Anchors to pull the retaining wall back overtime which would help the structure to further stabilize.
The homeowner was extremely happy when it was all said and done. She was especially thankful that the crew took note of the plants nearby and avoided harming them. Check out the new wall anchors pulling the wall back into place!
Years and years of washout and dryout took a toll on this heavy concrete block porch. The house was settling with noticeable cracks on the interior and exterior. The homeowner even recalled hearing a creaking noise at night. We installed helical piers on the porch and house to fix this and permanently stabilize the house.
