One is set at 1/3 horsepower and can discharge up to 2,200 gallons of water from the basement. The other pump is set at 1/2 horsepower, and it can discharge up to 3,900 additional gallons of water. In the event of a power outage or tripped circuit, we also added the UltraSump Battery Backup System. This device keeps the system running smoothly even if these scenarios were to occur. On a fully charged battery, set at the highest level, the UltraSump Battery Backup System can discharge up to 11,500 gallons of water or more! These three lines of defense will protect this basement from floods no matter what the conditions are!
