This Tarboro, NC home was showing clear signs of structural stress, including uneven and bouncy floors caused by weakened beams and failing support posts in the crawl space. During inspection, our team found aging wood, moisture exposure, and inadequate supports contributing to the floor sagging throughout the home. To permanently correct these symptoms, we installed our SmartJack support system strong, galvanized, and fully adjustable to lift and stabilize the floor structure. Paired with a clean encapsulation barrier, this solution strengthens the crawl space, protects against future moisture damage, and provides long-term stability so the homeowner can feel confident in the safety and integrity of their home.
This Columbia, NC home had a crawl space showing classic signs of trouble exposed soil, high humidity, falling insulation, and dirty air circulating through the ductwork. These conditions not only create musty odors and mold risk but also impact energy efficiency and the health of the living space above.
Our team solved these issues by fully encapsulating the crawl space with a durable vapor barrier, sealing off outside moisture sources, and adding insulation to regulate temperature. A sump pump and drainage system were installed to keep water out, while a dehumidifier now maintains dry, healthy air. The result is a clean, bright, and energy-efficient crawl space that protects the home for years to come.
This exterior wall had a large staircase crack going up the side due to shifting and settlement within the foundation. Our well-trained team of professionals installed helical piers to permanently stabilize the foundation slab and used Poly to seal the exterior cracks in the bricks.
In these photos taken at a home in Mars Hill, NC, signs of serious foundation settlement were clearly visible. The exterior brick wall had started to bow and pull away, creating visible gaps and causing concern for long-term structural integrity. Cracks in the mortar lines and uneven soil pressure against the foundation were early symptoms of a sinking structure likely worsened by the mountainous terrain and variable moisture levels common in this region.
To permanently stabilize the home, our team excavated along the affected wall and installed high-strength steel push piers beneath the foundation. These piers are designed to transfer the load of the home to deeper, more stable soil layers. Once installed and hydraulically driven to the proper depth, they effectively stopped the settlement and began the lifting process to realign the structure.
The final photo shows the area fully backfilled, with the wall now supported and secure. This transformation not only restored the homeowner’s peace of mind it protected their investment for the future.
A customer's home, built on a rocky mountain, experienced foundation settlement due to unstable ground conditions. To stabilize the home, we installed foundation push piers. This system involves driving steel piers deep into the ground until they reach stable soil or bedrock. The piers are then connected to the foundation, providing support and preventing further settlement. This method ensures the home's structural integrity and restores its stability.
