This home in Cincinnati, OH, had a settling foundation that was resulting in cracks. The before picture shows our piers attached underneath the footing of the foundation, but not yet lifted. The after shows the closed gap after we lifted the footers with our hydraulic device. If you look really closely, you can even notice the change in the angle of the structure. Gone be sticky windows and doors!
This garage lintel in Cincinnati, OH, was drooping before we lifted and stabilized it with a lintel repair. A garage lintel, (the top of the garage opening) can start to droop downwards over time, causing the lintel to look like a slight grin. We lifted the lintel by installing steel beams along the inside of both walls in the opening of the garage face. We then ran a steel beam across both jacks to distribute the load. After jacking the lintel back to plum, we then covered the steel beams with a fresh trim. This trim completely concealed the steel beams. The homeowner was very happy with the outcome, and was super impressed with our crews ability to work around the garage number pad on the right side. The chimney on this Cincinnati, OH, home had started pulling away from the house due to foundation settlement, leaving a visible gap. The crack grew in depth as the crack ran up the joint where the chimney and home met, a sure sign the chimney was pulling away. We installed helical piers and used hydraulic pressure to lift the chimney back into position against the home. The structure is now level, secure, permanently stabilized, and ready to be sealed again. Be sure to scroll through the photos to see the transformation.
External forces like hydrostatic pressure can cause your foundation walls to cave in. No worries though, we have the solution. Our steel I-beams called PowerBraces are not your ordinary I-beams. They are coated in zinc to prevent rusting, and they can handle very strong loads. Also, they were designed to prevent damage to your floor joists, as their special brackets can be tightened to straighten the wall back out.
This block wall foundation in Fort Thomas, KY, was pushing inward - and it was at a pretty severe stage of wall failure. We recommended that we install a wall repair system consisting of three of our PowerBraces in order to save the wall. These PowerBraces connect to the floor joists at the top will specialized brackets - which are designed to prevent floor joist movement. These brackets allow us to tighten the braces to straighten the wall out over time. You may also notice that we encapsulated the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. We also waterproofed this space by wrapping perforated drains underneath the floor, laying our dimpled membrane matting underneath the CleanSpace floor, and installing a SuperSump sump pump, (not pictured). The homeowner was not only relieved from the worry of a caving wall, but they were also happy with the added benefit of a dry and clean space.
