This homes basement was getting ready to be finished and the homeowners knew it had a moisture issue, that had become a flooding issue. The owners can cleared the space out and had been vacuuming the water to keep the levels down and then running fans to help the space dry out. They called in John's to get the space waterproofed before they finished it up. We installed a full WaterGuard drain system, TripleSafe sump pump, ThermalDry radiant vapor barrier for the walls and a SaniDry dehumidifier. Now the space is ready to be finished and to protect their basement investment.
This home would flood each year when heavy rains occurred. The homeowners wanted to put an end to this issue so they called up John's Waterproofing to get a free inspection and a solution for their homes issues. We installed a full interior perimeter WaterGuard system, CleanSpace wall system, TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry dehumidifier to ensure this space remains dry and healthy.
This homes below grade garage was experiencing water intrusion and it began to worry the homeowners especially after all of the rain. They wanted to find a solution that would address the water intrusion and give them peace of mind to make sure their personal belongings were safe. We went out for a free visit and inspected the inside of this garage and the outside of the foundation. Once we saw where the water was entering from, we met with the homeowner to go over the best options to solve this issue. We begin this project by using a jack hammer to create a trench around the interior perimeter of the wall and in this trench. Within this, we place clean gravel rock and our WaterGuard system. This is our perimeter drainage system that collects water that enters, whether that's ground water or from the walls, and this is then concreted over to provide a discreet look. Then at the lowest point of the space we install our SuperSump system that will take all of this collected water and pump it outside of the home through a discharge line. Now that the water will have a safe and reliable passage, these homeowners no longer have to worry about their belongings getting wet.
Stephen had water coming into his basement and knew this was going to create mold and damage. He called into John's Waterproofing after seeing our trucks out n about and got an appointment scheduled with Vinny for a free inspection. Vinny suggested installing a WaterGuard draining system with a SaniDry dehumidifier and TripleSafe sump pump. Once completed, ThermalDry Tile will be installed to further waterproof the floor along with giving the basement a nice, finished look.
The basement above the floor of this home was sagging, one of the wooden basement posts was no longer providing adequate support. This is a very common issue with wooden posts, and one that the Structural experts here at John's are very familiar with. When our Design Specialist arrived at this home, he found that the ground of the basement was all dirt and had history of water intrusion, causing this wooden post to settle into the ground, under the pressure of the weight of the home resting on top of it. To return the sagging overhead floor to its correct height, we removed the old beam, and replaced it with a Steel SmartJack. We "jacked up" the SmartJack until the sagging floor was lifted back up. This Steel Post will remain in place to permanently prevent the floor from future sagging. Additionally, to address the issue of water intrusion into the basement, we installed our WaterGuard Full Perimeter Drainage System along the interior walls, to collect and expel all water safely away from the home through a sump pump through a discharge line. We also laid down our DrainMatt dimpled drainage matt on top of the entirety of the floor, to help gather and direct all water slightly downhill, and away from the home via a discharge line. On top of the DrainMatt, we built concrete forms, and poured new concrete tightly around the footing of the SmartJack, as well as the entire basement floor. After pouring, we gave the new slab a nice broom finish! The flooring above the basement of this home is now level once again, and with the basement waterproofed, the entire structure of this home is now protected and secure.
