After Tracey Y. noticed the steel plate, which her back porch sits upon, had been settling, she decided to give Redeemers Group a call. After a thorough inspection had been completed, the inspector noticed that the front left and back right corners of the house were also settling, with the concrete under the porch settling as well. Redeemers Group was more than happy to help, and decided the best plan of action would be to encapsulate the dirty, moldy, basement, then complete the foundation work. As seen in these before and after pictures, the crawlspace under the settling house was pretty rough; it even had mold! This project involved a Memphis homeowner who had long struggled with moisture issues and failing insulation in his crawl space. He originally installed insulation himself years earlier, but ongoing moisture caused it to sag, fall, and become ineffective. The inspection found a wood moisture level of 17.5%, confirming that excess humidity had been impacting the structure and contributing to cold floors throughout the home. To correct the problem, the team completed a full crawl space encapsulation using SilverGlo insulation panels and removed all water-damaged insulation. The homeowner requested that the removed material be bagged and left curbside for pickup to save on disposal costs, and he also opted to handle electrical outlet installation for the dehumidifier and sump pump himself. The installation required additional time due to the amount of saturated insulation and even required cutting through the metal crawl space door frame to fit the Sedona dehumidifier inside. Despite these challenges, the encapsulation was completed successfully, creating a cleaner, drier, and more energy-efficient space.

 This property was struggling with prolonged moisture in the crawl space.  This problem was quickly remedied with an encapsulation using our CleanSpace^TM System with a SmartSump^TM to prevent future issues.

Michael reached out to us based on the recommendation of a previously satisfied customer, seeking a long-term solution for his home’s foundation concerns. The main issues included a slightly sunken hallway wall, a drop in the master bathroom area, and overall instability near the front door and stairwell. Additionally, the crawl space required full encapsulation to improve moisture control and insulation. We identified the need for SmartJacks to stabilize the affected areas before completing the encapsulation, ensuring structural integrity and preventing further settling. Another challenge was limited crawl space access, requiring modifications such as removing insulation, adjusting crawl space doors, and potentially creating alternate entry points to install the necessary equipment.

To resolve these issues, our team installed eight SmartJacks with a 40-foot beam to provide reliable foundation support. We removed insulation and debris, installed 3,600 square feet of CleanSpace™ for moisture protection, and placed 780 feet of SilverGlo™ for enhanced insulation. A SmartSump™ with IceGuard™ was added for drainage, along with a multi-area dehumidifier and condensate pump to control humidity and prevent future damage. To improve accessibility, we fitted a new crawl space door and reinforced select vents for future maintenance.
