Flooded basement: With summer rainfall and winter snow, Vermont homes can be exposed to serious flooding issues. When flooding hits your area, your basement is most likely to be the prime target for water damage.
Other wet basement signs: There are many possible sources for pooling water, damp basement walls or flooring, and high humidity. These include: rusty basement windows, poor grading around the foundation, leaks through cracks in the foundation, saturated soils, simple plumbing failures, and poorly functioning drainage or sump pump systems. A basement already musty and damp is ill-prepared for the next bad rainstorm! Basement waterproofing can address the underlying issues, prevent future water damage and improve the indoor air quality.
Waterproof your basement today! The waterproofing experts in the Basement Systems network have helped homeowners across the state of Vermont for decades, by identifying the source of leaks, flooding, groundwater seepage, and musty odors. Comment: The basement in my home is cement blocks. There appears to be water draining through the blocks, not through an apparent cracks in the wall but through the blocks themselves. Some of the bricks feel wet to the touch and have a dark coloring to them. Water pools have occurred on the eastern and southern sides of the basement floor. There has also been a water issue with recent snow melt in the bulkhead staircase that leads to the basement. Water has come in underneath the bulkhead door and down the stairs, pooling on the basement floor.

Comment: On big rainstorms, we have a small amount of water come into the basement (so far through three different spots). I'd like to reduce that to: never. Also, our basement floor is spotted and ugly; I'd like to make it more attractive.
Project Location: Bethel, VT 05032
Comment: We have active seepage in the basement, as well as foundation cracks. Prior owners dug a channel in the concrete basement floor which leads to an open drain. We would like to address the seepage & evaluate/address drainage issues in our yard that may be allowing water to push up against the foundation. I can send photos if this helps with a quote.
