Flooded basement: With summer rainfall and winter snow, Vermont homes can be exposed to serious flooding issues. When flooding hits your area, your basement is most likely to be the prime target for water damage.
Other wet basement signs: There are many possible sources for pooling water, damp basement walls or flooring, and high humidity. These include: rusty basement windows, poor grading around the foundation, leaks through cracks in the foundation, saturated soils, simple plumbing failures, and poorly functioning drainage or sump pump systems. A basement already musty and damp is ill-prepared for the next bad rainstorm! Basement waterproofing can address the underlying issues, prevent future water damage and improve the indoor air quality.
Waterproof your basement today! Project Location: Middlebury, VT 05753
Comment: The basement in my home is cement blocks. There appears to be water draining through the blocks, not through an apparent cracks in the wall but through the blocks themselves. Some of the bricks feel wet to the touch and have a dark coloring to them. Water pools have occurred on the eastern and southern sides of the basement floor. There has also been a water issue with recent snow melt in the bulkhead staircase that leads to the basement. Water has come in underneath the bulkhead door and down the stairs, pooling on the basement floor.

Comment: Basement moisture concerns
Project Location: Graniteville, VT 05654
Comment: Recently purchased a house with a sump pump in the basement. The pump works well from what I can tell so far but there is still a lot of ambient moisture in the basement, and a odor. I think I want to install a beefy dehumidifier but I would like to get a professional opinion. There may be other warranted improvements that I am not seeing.
