WaterGuard, SuperSump & Foundation Repair After Water Damage Discovery
When this homeowner in Marinette, WI began removing drywall during a basement remodel, they discovered more than they bargained for—signs of water damage and visible foundation cracks. What started as a cosmetic project quickly became a mission to prevent future flooding and more serious structural issues.
Our team installed a full WaterGuard® interior drainage system around the perimeter to capture water at the source and direct it away before it could rise onto the basement floor. To support drainage along trouble spots, we added bleeder lines and connected everything to a new SuperSump™ Plus Sump Pump system with IceGuard® protection at the discharge line to prevent freezing and backup during cold Wisconsin winters.
The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing their foundation is protected—and their basement remodel can move forward safely.

Before
The crawl space in Marinette, WI was experiencing ongoing water intrusion, elevated humidity levels, and damp conditions along the perimeter walls. Groundwater seepage was entering at the wall-to-floor joint, allowing moisture to spread across the crawl space floor and contribute to musty odors and increased risk of mold and wood deterioration. These issues are common in Wisconsin crawl spaces where high groundwater tables, heavy rainfall, and freeze-thaw cycles place constant pressure on foundation systems.
After
A full perimeter drainage solution was installed using WaterGuard® to capture groundwater at the wall-to-floor joint and direct it safely away from the crawl space. Water collected by the system is discharged through the UltraSump® sump pump system, providing reliable protection even during heavy rain or power outages. To address lingering moisture and humidity, a Sedona SaniDry® dehumidifier was installed to continuously control moisture levels and improve overall air quality.
The crawl space is now dry, properly managed, and protected against future water intrusion, creating a healthier and more stable environment for the home.
Before
The crawl space in Marinette, WI had exposed soil, elevated humidity, and uninsulated foundation surfaces that allowed moisture and cold air to move freely into the home. The rim joist areas were poorly sealed, contributing to drafts, condensation, and energy loss, while the crawl space walls lacked proper insulation to control temperature and moisture. These conditions are common in Wisconsin crawl spaces, where groundwater moisture and seasonal freeze-thaw cycles create ongoing comfort and air quality concerns.
After
The crawl space was fully encapsulated with CleanSpace®, creating a durable vapor barrier that seals out ground moisture and helps prevent humidity from entering the space. The rim joists were insulated and air sealed using RimTight® to block air leakage, reduce condensation risk, and improve overall energy efficiency. Crawl space walls were then insulated with SilverGlo® rigid foam panels to provide continuous thermal insulation and moisture resistance.
The crawl space is now sealed, insulated, and moisture-controlled, improving indoor comfort, air quality, and long-term energy performance for the home.
