Before: A homeowner in Tigerton, WI had significant concrete settlement inside a garage/work shed. Sections of the floor had dropped enough to create a large, noticeable crack and uneven areas across the slab. After: Sure-Dry used PolyLevel® to lift and level the settled concrete. Lightweight polyurethane foam was injected beneath the slab, where it expanded to fill underlying voids and carefully raise the concrete. As the different sections of the floor were brought back toward their proper elevations, something impressive happened—the large crack actually closed up considerably as the slabs moved back into alignment. While lifting doesn't make an existing crack disappear, reducing the separation showed just how much of the cracking had been caused by settlement. The garage/work shed now has a significantly more level and stable concrete floor without tearing out and replacing the slab.

Before: A homeowner in Antigo, WI noticed sections of their concrete walkway leading to the front steps had settled over time, creating uneven surfaces and potential tripping hazards. Like many concrete surfaces throughout northern Wisconsin, years of moisture infiltration, soil movement, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles had caused portions of the slabs to sink and separate. After: Sure-Dry restored the affected concrete using PolyLevel® High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to carefully lift and level the sunken sections of the front walkway. Once the slabs were returned to their proper position, NexusPro® Concrete Joint Sealant was applied to the joints and gaps to help prevent water intrusion beneath the concrete. Unlike traditional mudjacking (also known as slab jacking), PolyLevel uses a lightweight, high-density foam that won't add significant weight to the soil below, cures quickly, and provides long-lasting stabilization. The repaired concrete now offers a safer walking surface, improved appearance, and greater protection against future settlement and freeze-thaw damage.

Before

This Antigo, WI homeowner had a decorative stamped concrete step at the entrance to their home that had started sinking and pulling away from the door frame. Because the concrete was colored red and stamped with a decorative pattern, replacing the step would mean losing an attractive feature that was designed to complement the home.

Settlement like this commonly occurs when soil beneath the concrete compresses, erodes, or develops voids. Northern Wisconsin's repeated freeze-thaw cycles can further contribute to movement beneath exterior concrete. As the step settled, the growing gap near the doorway became increasingly noticeable and created an uneven transition at the entrance.

After

Sure-Dry used PolyLevel® to lift the existing decorative concrete step back toward its proper position near the door frame.

PolyLevel polyurethane foam is injected through small holes in the concrete and expands beneath the slab, filling voids and providing the controlled lifting force needed to raise settled concrete. This was particularly beneficial for a decorative stamped step because the existing concrete could be preserved rather than removed and replaced.

Compared with traditional mudjacking, PolyLevel requires smaller injection holes, uses lightweight polyurethane that adds less weight to the underlying soil, and cures quickly.

The repair preserved the home's red stamped concrete while correcting the settlement and improving the transition at the doorway.
