Crawlspace Encapsulation on Salt Spring Island

This crawlspace was conditioned by removing the old batt insulation and installing CleanSpace two layer encapsulation liner across the entire crawlspace, sealing and anchoring the foundation walls and interior strip footing. Any exterior vents were closed off with membrane prior to being sealed with spray foam. R20 Closed cell spray foam was used on the exterior walls of the main crawlspace to insulate 100% of those walls.

ThermalDry and WaterGuard Systems installed in Chemainus BC

The ThermalDry waterproof membrane rolls out over your basement floor, creating a moisture barrier between the cold, damp floor. Plywood is anchored to the floor over the ThermalDry membrane by drilling holes and anchoring with fasteners. The membrane will never rot, corrode or deteriorate. After the installation, carpet, tile or linoleum can be lain, making the floor warm and dry. The space can be used as a bedroom, playroom or office. The WaterGuard system intercepts water at the perimeter of your basement and drains it safely away. The musty smells will be reduced, and the drainage system will prevent seepage problems from ever occurring. No more flooded basement and it’ll be more energy efficient whilst providing a healthier indoor air quality.

Crawlspace encapsulation in Parksville BC

CleanSpace provides a permanent ground seal & encapsulation system across the entire crawlspace floor. Adding spray foam to insulate and air seal the exterior crawlspace walls will stop the cold drafts and keep the heat in the home. Conditioning this space will help save energy and heating costs, whilst making the living space more comfortable.

Damp crawlspace in Black Creek, now dry

This 1990's home had a very damp crawlspace; the 6mil poly under the skim coat had failed and moisture was wicking up into the poorly insulated crawlspace. As well, it was a heated space, but had lots of cold air coming in through the passive vents and hatch. Mould, high wood moisture content, and musty smells were a result. We installed our CleanSpace encapsulation membrane, properly insulated the exterior walls, built an air-tight hatch, and installed a far superior sump system to help de-water the sub-floor layer. Our SmartSump system with the optional UltraSump battery back-up pump. Now the crawlspace is clean, dry, energy efficient and a much healthier space too. An asset to the home!
