Diana knew it was time to call up professionals when she noticed water leaks in her basement were making her carpets wet. After she called Ayers we sent out a crew for inspection and it was determined she could use our WaterGuard System as well as our TripleSafe Sump Pump System.
WaterGuard is a below-floor drainage system that rests on the drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. This system will catch water leaking through your walls and as it makes its way to the floor, WaterGuard will collect it and reroute it to your sump system. Concrete is poured over this to conceal the drainage system. The TripleSafe is a three pump system that fits in one sturdy liner. These pumps collect water and are covered with an airtight lid that prevents water from evaporating into the basement. The last pump is even battery-operated so it will turn on if your power goes out.
Diana was grateful to have a system installed that will keep her carpets dry, protecting her precious belongings!
In the process of waterproofing this basement in Ravenna, MI, we installed Brightwall panels to cover the severe water damage on the lower third of the block walls. In addition to covering up the horror movie look of the walls, the Brightwall panels are tied right into the WaterGuard system to help direct water to the WaterGuard and the sump pump.
Even after a basement is dried, the signs of wear and tear from water damage serves as evidence of what had once been; something no homeowner wants to remember. Water can leave stains and damage walls by mold growth or rot and decay. BrightWall panels solve these problems. The panels are quick to install as they are placed overtop of the current walls. They are waterproof, stop any water vapor from passing through, and are made from inorganic materials banishing any potential mold growth or mildew. These panels don't warp, are energy efficicent, and give your basement a more clean and bright look. A great final touch to any waterproofing job!
The crack in this was a likely point of entry for water in the basement. It would be easy to go to the hardware store and fix the crack yourself, with mortar or adhesive, but it’s very likely this solution wouldn’t last long, especially if the crack were ever to expand. FlexiSpan crack repair is a warranted repair system that seals the crack in three steps. First, a flexible sealant is applied along the crack, and then porous foam is applied over it. Lastly, an impermeable membrane is applied over the foam, allowing any water that may come through the crack to be caught by the drainage system along the floor. The flexible material of FlexiSpan means the repair covering won’t crack if the walls move in the future. This specially designed system puts a stop to wall leaks, preventing a basement full of water.
