This family called us because they had water occasionally coming in their crawl space which was causing mold to grow and they had a dirt floor allowing critters and outside air in. We all know mold is not something that should be taken lightly as it can cause health issues and can tremendously affect the resale value of your home. We don't put dirt floors in basements so why does having a dirt floor in your crawl space sound okay? We sent a system design specialist out to the home to see what could be done and offer the best solution to the problem.

The homeowner and system design specialist agreed that installing our CleanSpace system would be the best answer. CleanSpace ensures that the crawl space will be isolated from the earth so no critters, air or ground water can evaporate into the atmosphere of the space. It's also made of a very thick plastic so there is no worrying about it tearing or not holding up. The liner is also made with an antimicrobial additive that prevents the growth of mold. 

This family opted to encapsulate their entire crawl space to prevent the spread of mold caused by standing water. Cold, unsealed crawlspaces also allow that cold air to travel to the living space above, which is why your floors are so cold. We also insulated the floors with TerraBlock Crawl Space Floor Insulation which can be installed on uneven surfaces and prevents moisture from entering your crawl space. We also insulated the rim joists which are a common entry point for cold, moist outside air. 

Troy noticed a musty smell wafting through the vents in his home and wasn't sure where it was coming from. After searching the whole house for the source, he wound up in a moist, moldy crawl space. He was unsure how to fix the issue himself, so he researched his options and called Ayers for help. Our specialists stopped by his house to evaluate the space and recommended installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is lined with antimicrobial material to eliminate moisture, reduce mold-growth, and it's designed to withstand walking and crawling. Troy can't believe his nose!

Martin wanted his crawl space encapsulated to keep out mold and water. We first installed the Drainage Matting. This mat has dimples in it to allow any water that gets in to flow under the liner and can be directed to the sump pump. The CleanSpace Liner is installed over top of the matting as a vapor barrier. This liner stops water vapor, humidity, and pests from passing through the foundation into the space. There is also an additive in the liner which prevents mold growth to keep the space and home dry!

Our customer called with major water and mold issues in his crawl space. We used CleanSpace vapor barrier to encapsulate the crawl space after adding a layer of drainage matting to help water flow to the new Smart Sump pump. A SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed to control ambient moisture.
