We'd like to welcome Sabria Foster to the Cowleys family as one of our Appointment Center Representatives! Sabria, a resident of Ocean County NJ, joined Cowleys in March 2024 and her warm smile and professional demeanor has been a welcomed addition to Cowleys!

Sabria will be the first contact that a prospective customer has with Cowleys. She happily takes on a wide variety of responsibilities throughout the day, such as scheduling service appointments, explaining Cowleys various services to prospective customers, sales, and answering service inquiries.  

When not scheduling services or assisting customers, Sabria is a devoted foodie and loves to sample all types of cuisines around the world. She always enjoys going for long walks and trying out all different types of sports!

As we inspected the building, we found a number of openings that the mice were using to get inside. One was a wide gap underneath the back door.
We installed a one-way device over this entry point and set up several baited devices nearby. The one-way device allows the squirrels to safely exit the area, but prevents them from getting back in. After a short period of time, we retrieved all the squirrels and took them to a safer location.
As we inspected the exterior of the home, we located the entry points. There were two holes in the side of the home that lead right into the crawl space.
A positive set is made up of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone is going to safely guide the squirrel into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the squirrel will enter the device! Once it does, we're going to take it to a new humane location, disinfect the attic, and install sturdy metal flashing over the main access point. The owner is going to hire a contractor to repair his gutter at a later date.
First, we removed all the debris, leveled the ground for proper draining, and installed a drainage matting. A drainage matting is a dimpled plastic mat that allows all excess moisture to work its way over to the newly installed SmartSump™ Crawl Space Sump Pump. Afterward, we installed a vapor barrier.
The next thing we did was install ComfortTherm® Insulation throughout the crawl space. ComfortTherm® Insulation is poly-encapsulated and is ideal for moisture-rich crawl space environments. The insulation also helps to preserve the air quality, reduce energy costs, provide excellent temperature and noise control, and comes with a vapor-retarder for use in hot, humid climates. Next, we installed a vapor barrier.
Now the builder's gap is properly secured and the flying squirrels are excluded from the area.
