The basement of this home in Binghamton, NY had no insulation.

By spraying 2 inches of closed cell foam to the rim joist and foundation walls, we corrected that.  The basement is now well insulated and the home above will be considerably more comfortable as a result.

After air sealing, 12 inches of cellulose insulation was blown in.  The barrier shown here is to allow the attic hatch to open and close without problems.  Along with other aspects of the project, this will contribute to making the home more comfortable and more energy efficient.
