Stopping Water Intrusion in a Basement in Stone Ridge, NY

A homeowner located in Stone Ridge, NY contacted our company when water unexpectedly leaked into their basement. This was not something the homeowner had ever seen before, so they knew something was wrong and that it needed to be fixed. Our specialist John determined that water was seeping through the concrete block walls in the basement, which became apparent because of the efflorescence that could be seen on the walls. To solve this problem, we installed our DryTrak System paired with our CleanSpace Wall System. The DryTrak System is made specifically for homes with monolithic foundations. Our crew does not have to spend endless hours jackhammering a thick concrete slab because our DryTrak System gets permanently epoxied to the top of the floor. The small opening at the top allows the water to drain directly from the wall and into the system. The CleanSpace Wall System gets installed right behind the DryTrak System to help ensure that the water is being funneled into it. This 100% waterproof plastic barrier also prevents water vapor from passing through your walls. With these products installed, the homeowner felt rest assured that their walls would stop leaking water into the basement.

IceGuard Discharge Line Installation in Wallkill, NY

A homeowner in Wallkill, NY wanted to make sure their basement stayed dry. Lots of circumstances can arise that make that difficult, but that’s where our products shine. To give this homeowner a peaceful state of mind, our crew installed the IceGuard Discharge Line System. This special addition to your discharge line helps to ensure that water will still be pumped out of your basement even when the temperatures drop. It is installed outside of the home and projects water away from your foundation, in the event your sump pump discharge line freezes or clogs.

The IceGuard gives the water a secondary route to escape through the slotted openings in the drainpipe. This added layer of protection against flooding assured this homeowner that their basement would stay dry no matter what.

Waterproofing a Basement with a TrenchDrain in Washingtonville, NY

This homeowner was experiencing water seeping in from their front lawn and into their basement. The culprit? The garage door. They already had an old drain installed in front of the garage door, but it just wasn’t doing its job properly on its own. A drain like this being in front of the garage door is not an ideal scenario either, as it can freeze over during the colder months. That’s when The Basement Transformer stepped in to fix this problem. We made sure to install our TrenchDrain Grated Drainage Pipe System on the inside of the garage door that leads to the basement, drastically decreasing the possibility of it freezing in the wintertime. The grated opening fits nice & snug on top of the pipe and collects any water that passes over it. That water then gets directed straight into your sump pump system.

This system is also designed to pair with our TrenchLock Drain Inserts, which keep harmful radon gases found in the ground out of your home. We made sure to install these as well, so that water would still be drained properly without having to worry about the toxic air making its way into the basement.

After installing these products, the homeowner knew their front lawn could no longer contribute to making the basement floor wet!
