Excessive moisture in this customers crawl space led to joist damaged that ultimately caused the subfloor to warp and feel bouncy. Our team removed the damaged area and replace the subfloor. Additionally, we recommended the homeowner encapsulate their crawl space to prevent further moisture damage as well as installing our SmartJack Support system to stabilize sagging floors. 

Excessive moisture in the crawl space can damage the structural integrity by promoting wood rot, mold growth, and attracting pests, all of which can weaken the foundation and compromise the stability of the entire building. Unfortunately, this customers crawl space fell victim to moisture damage. The first project they wanted to tackle was the rotted subfloor. Our team treated the space for mold growth then carefully removed and replaced the floor with new material. 

Art contacted Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair concerned about water that was entering the basement of his home in New Bern, NC. Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair inspector Andy Pittman met with Art to go over the problems and concerns to find the best possible solution for the home. Andy found that the water was entering the basement from the basement walls and the best solution would be to install the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System. By installing the WaterGuard System we are able to catch the water when it entering the basement, direct it to the Triple Safe Sump Pump System and then out of the home. Art is thrilled with the work that Southeast Foundation & Crawl Space Repair was able to do to fix his home. 

High humidity in the crawl space led to moisture accumulation, which caused the floor joists to become damp and weakened. This weakened state made the joists susceptible to rot and structural damage. To address this, our team carefully repaired the joists by sistering them, which involves attaching new, healthy wood alongside the damaged joists to reinforce and restore their strength.

Water intrusion was a problem for this customer due to a poorly sealed crawl space. We completely encapsulated the crawl space, making sure it was completely sealed. This will prevent leaks from occurring in the future. During this process, a SmartSump crawl space sump pump system was installed. If there is a leak in a pipe or water enters the crawl space, the sump system will remove it.
