This homeowner called All-Dry of the Carolinas when they started noticing a strange smell in their crawlspace. Unfortunately, this is an extremely common sign of a high humidity level in the crawlspace. This crawlspace was not in too bad of shape, but it had enough moisture coming from the ground and walls that they needed some type of system to take care of the problem.
Our Systems Design Specialist, Alex Rogers, went out to this home just a few days after they called, to get a better look at the area and really determine what kind of system this family needed to make their crawlspace happy and healthy. This system included 3-inch drain tile, a SmartSump pump, a dehumidifier, and of course CleanSpace liner. This homeowner got the full CleanSpace encapsulation!
The difference between these two photos is incredible, both physically and functionally. The most obvious difference between the before and after pictures is the CleanSpace that was installed. It completely changes the look of the area, but it also provides a great service. The CleanSpace (along with the rest of the products) keep the moisture out of the crawlspace so that the family doesn't have to worry about this anymore!
We often encounter crawlspaces in all shapes and sizes. Some crawlspaces are tiny, which require are crews to crawl through it on their hands and knees. Some crawlspaces are connected to a basement and so they are oddly shaped, much like this one. This Clinton, South Carolina crawlspace was definitely a weird one. But that didn’t make much difference to us. We’ve seen it all and we’ve fixed it all.
This crawlspace, despite its weirdness, required very little. One thing is for sure, it needed a CleanSpace liner and an Aprilaire dehumidifier. The trouble, of course, was the odd shape of the crawlspace. In order for our liner to perform to its best ability, it needed to cover the entire floor of the crawlspace. This required a lot of movement and adjusting from our crew. However, they were able to create what you see here. A platform was even created to raise the dehumidifier. It looks particularly well done, proving, once again, that All-Dry of the Carolinas gets the work done.
Very few crawlspaces can look like the one we have here in the “before” picture, and not affect the rest of the home. In the worst case scenario, the issues caused by the high humidity of the crawlspace can aggravate your asthma and allergies. Dust mites as well as mold will appear in spurts, but (like most things) those can grow out of hand. This Clinton, South Carolina home knows that fact first hand.
For All-Dry of the Carolinas, the solution is simple. Pictured in the “after” photo we have installed our patented CleanSpace liner. This liner acts as the supreme barrier that separates the earth from your home. It is bright and 20 mils thick. This material is even manufactured with an agent called UltraFresh which prevents mold and bacteria growth. Unlike the mess of a liner in the “before” photo, our liner far outstrips and out classes it by miles.
The owner of the home happily agrees.
This home in Augusta, GA was experiencing major moisture issues in their basement Our All-Dry team tackled this issue head on using several different methods of our water proofing technology. After cleaning the crawlspace of debris, our team inserted the CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace is a 20 mil tick liner that is laid across the basement floor and wrapped around walls and piers. This liner works as a barrier to keep moister that is produced from the ground of the basement. In this specific case, the CleanSpace was just placed on the walls; this was to hold in moister that came from the water that dripped down the walls when entering the crawlspace. Once the CleanSpace was installed our team added a dehumidifier that would remove all moisture that is produced from under the home.
Our crew installed CleanSpace to encapsulate this crawl space for a homeowner in Buffalo, SC.
To ensure professional installation and superior service we carefully created an international network of over 350 trusted basement contractors.
