Sharon had a partial basement waterproofing system installed by another company several years ago. Now she was looking to have a system installed throughout so that the basement can stay completely dry. Our team installed a WaterGuard perimeter drainage system along the walls, tying into the existing system to create one continuous protective unit. WaterGuard is a french drain system that sits on the home's footing and gathers moisture along the base of the wall and directs it inconspicuously to the sump pump system.
The basement walls of this home in Lansing, MI had a few cracks in them. Not only were these cracks an eyesore, but they were also letting water in through them. To prevent this water from entering the basement and wreaking havoc, the homeowners decided to waterproof the space with WaterGuard and CleanSpace.
To collect water from the leaks in the walls, WaterGuard, a subfloor drainage system was installed. The specially designed piping is laid on top of the footing around the perimeter of the room. It collects the water and then reroutes it to a sump pump, which discharges the water away from the home. Since it doesn’t sit along the footing, it won’t get clogged with mud.
CleanSpace was the final touch in making over the cracked walls in the basement. Not only does it cover up unsightly cracks, but CleanSpace also provides a moisture barrier from the wall leaks allowing them to drain into the WaterGuard system. Additionally, CleanSpace is durable and is manufactured with an antimicrobial additive.
WaterGuard and CleanSpace work together to keep this basement dry and aesthetically pleasing!
Joan called about a wet area of her basement. It was just a small area a few feet in width that was seeing water coming in. With an existing sump pump the fix was quite simple. Along the wet wall, we installed our WaterGuard drainage system. This required a small portion of the drywall, about 2 feet up from the ground, to be removed. We then removed some of the concrete floor to reveal the home's footing. The drain was set in place right on the footing and conrete was replaced over top. WaterGuard will collect moisture from the walls and from the seam where the floor and walls meet. The drain is then tied into the sump pump system to allow for that moisture to be removed from the home. The drywall was replaced and now the basement is safe from the puddles that had been plaguing it for months.
