The basement wall had a small, non-functional glass block window, which didn’t meet the safety standards required for an egress window. This meant the basement didn’t have proper ventilation, light, or an emergency exit. The foundation was also a concern, with potential issues related to water leakage and radon exposure. A larger egress window was installed, greatly improving safety by providing a proper emergency exit and allowing more natural light and ventilation. The foundation was also addressed, with waterproofing measures taken to prevent leaks, and radon mitigation steps were implemented to ensure a safer indoor environment. The basement is now structurally sound, properly ventilated, and up to code.
Aaron, a homeowner in East Lansing, MI, needed professional basement waterproofing to address moisture seeping through the egress window and walls, threatening his plans for an entertainment space. He wanted a dry, secure basement ready for finishing. Ayers Basement Systems provided the perfect solution, installing WaterGuard®, TripleSafe™, and the CleanSpace® Wall System to prevent water intrusion and improve air quality. Aaron was thrilled with the crew’s expertise and the long-term protection, knowing his basement is now protected and ready to become the entertainment hub he envisioned.
David and Julie had been worried about potential flooding problems in their basement for years. The anxiety had become too much when they decided to call Ayers. After our initial inspection of the house, we knew it was going to be a big job. We determined that our WaterGuard waterproofing system as well as the TripleSafe sump pump would be perfect for David and Julie's home. WaterGuard is a sub-flooring waterproofing system that keeps water way from your foundation and mud away from your drains. The TripleSafe sump pump system utilizes three pumps in order to remove excess water from your basement. The second and third pumps are in case of emergencies so your basement can remain dry, even when the power goes out. David and Julie were beyond grateful that they no longer have to worry about waking up to a flooded basement and can remain safe in their home for years to come.
We use CleanSpace, a durable plastic liner - like a pool liner - for lining dirt crawl spaces. It is perfect as a basement wall solution for stone wall basements. Because stone walls are not flat, they are not candidates for BrightWall paneling. The CleanSpace provides a vapor barrier, drains water behind it, and dramatically brightens the basement. It will have little waves in it because it comes off of a roll rather than in panels, but the CleanSpace is very durable and nearly impossible to rip.
Chris K. from Leslie, MI had two inches of water in his basement during the rain before calling us. He needed a solution, and we had one.
We installed our patented WaterGuard French drain system. WaterGuard rests below the basement floor and above the foundation footing, collecting water that seeps into the basement from the walls. Once this water is in the drain, it is then redirected to the sump pump to be pumped up and out of the home.
