Carole had a concrete wall in the basement that was cracked and causing water to seep in. She called Ayers to have an inspection done at her home so she could figure out possible solutions. Our System Design Specialists were able to recommend FlexiSpan from this inspection. FlexiSpan is a solution that has a two-layer sealant process. One layer fills the crack with a polyurethane sealant and the other part we add is a drainage route for the water intrusion to be directed. We place a white panel over the now sealed crack and place a drainage well in the sub-floor below this to catch the water if it permeates. Carole was glad these pesky puddles were finally resolved without a full wall remodel!
Ronald was in the process of finishing his basement. The last step was adding an egress window to make the space more inviting. He called Ayers to begin this installation. Our egress windows are much larger than the average basement window. This addition will brighten the room and allow more fresh air to circulate. The window provides a safe exit option for emergencies that may arise. With this new window, the dark, gloomy feel of the basement is no longer an issue!
Scott noticed his old sump pump wasn't efficiently removing water from his basement, and some had begun leaking onto the floor. He wasn't sure how to fix the problem, so he researched his options and called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. We sent a team of professionals to examine the space and recommend a solution. They suggested installing the TripleSafe sump pump designed to prevent accidents from pump failure by including three pumps. The first is the primary, followed by a backup, and finally, a battery-powered backup in case of power outages. Scott is happy with his dry basement!
Tammy was worried about the water that would seep into her basement occasionally. She called our professionals at Ayers for possible solutions and we sent a crew to her home for an inspection. Our System Design Specialists concluded from this inspection that she would need our WaterGuard System. This is a drainage system that our experts install below the floor and around the perimeter of the basement. It will collect the water coming into her basement and rather than pooling on the floor, it will be directed to the sump pump. Next, we pour concrete over the drain to conceal it in the floor. Tammy was relieved to finally have these leaks resolved!
A home in Canton, MI's crawlspace, part of an addition built in 1992, had inadequate insulation, contributing to moisture and temperature control issues. The dirt floor and poorly installed plastic sheeting allowed moisture to enter, impacting the overall air quality and potentially causing long-term damage. To resolve the issues, they encapsulated the crawlspace using a CleanSpace vapor barrier system, which covers the floor and walls to prevent moisture from entering. The joists and ducts were insulated correctly, and SmartJacks were installed for additional foundation support. The space also had a sump pump to manage water and a dehumidifier to control humidity levels. This setup significantly improved the insulation and moisture control in the crawlspace.
