After buying their house, Lydia and her husband were advised to get work done in their crawl space. So they called our team and asked us to install a vapor barrier in their crawl space. Our team installed CleanSpace, a plastic sheet material used as a vapor barrier to restrict all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. Also, we installed IceGuard a sump pump discharge line system that even when frozen allows water to leave. Lastly, we installed the SaniDry XP Basement Dehumidifier which never needs to be emptied because the water drains automatically. Also, it is ten times more powerful than typical dehumidifiers.
Doug examined his crawl space and realized it was moist and mold was growing on the wooden support beams. He knew mold growth could lead to further structural damage to his home, so he called Ayers for help. We sent a crew of professionals to his home who decided to install the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is constructed of antimicrobial material and applied uninterruptedly to the crawl space floors and walls to reduce moisture and mold growth. Doug is happy he called Ayers!
A customer from Onekama, Michigan gave us a call. They told us that the wanted help insulating their crawlspace from the outside environment. We drove to their property and helped them out by installing our CleanSpace technology. CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that fits to the crawl space to completely seal the home from the earth. Polyester cord reinforcement allows for a lot of durability, to make it last longer than the home will. This liner also contains an antimicrobial additive to prevent mold. CleanSpace will allow the homeowner to never worry about a wet crawlspace ever again.
Frank was hoping to seal up his crawl space with a vapor barrier. He did some research and found that Ayers sold the perfect solutions for his crawl space. He gave us a call and we sent a crew out for a free inspection to determine what products he could use to tackle this. Our System Design Specialists concluded Frank would need CleanSpace, SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, and our SuperSump Plus.
The first product installed was CleanSpace which is a thick, durable plastic liner that utilizes this vapor barrier quality he was looking for. The vapor barrier protects against excess water or moisture development. Too much moisture can lead to mold or bacteria growth. We also installed SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier which will eliminate moisture and water in the air, keeping it free from musty smells or mold spores. It costs less to run and can remove up to 95 pints of water a day. Lastly, SuperSump Plus was added to tackle any water leaks. It can pump 2200 gallons of water an hour at an 8 foot head.
Now that Frank's crawl space is protected with an efficient, long-lasting system he's relieved of the issues with his crawl space he was tired of dealing with!
Ken S. called because his crawl space was consistently damp due to his home being near a lake. The exposed earth in his dirt crawl space was letting a continuous stream of water vapor into the space, which increases the moisture level and the likelihood that mold and rot will form. This high amount of moisture will move upward into other areas of his home due to the “Stack Effect” bringing the damp air and mold spores with it. The porous cement block walls in his crawl space also serve as a source for water vapor to easily enter the space and increase the relative humidity.
To combat this problem we installed CleanSpace, which is a durable, waterproof and vapor proof liner that prevents any outside air or moisture from getting in. The white color will brighten the space and it is securely fastened to your walls so it will stay in place. We also installed the FrothPak insulation to seal and insulate the crawl space walls. This is perfect for a crawl space because it doesn’t absorb ambient moisture and is made from inorganic material so you will never have to worry about mold growth.
