Gail gave Ayers a call after concern over water intrusion through her basement walls after heavier precipitation. We sent a crew to check out this area and from there it was settled that she needed our WaterGuard System and TripleSafe Sump Pump System. WaterGuard is the perfect fix as it is a below-floor drainage system that collects water leaking through the walls and directs the flow to the sump pump. TripleSafe is a three pump system that fits in one trusty liner that works together to keep water out. The last pump is even battery-operated so it will run when the power fails.

This Mears, MI couple was interested in improving their home’s heating and cooling. Mostly, they wanted an effective way to heat their floors without breaking the bank. Knowing that their crawl space was lacking insulation, they decided it was an area worth looking into. After seeing one of our commercial ads on television, they decided to give a call to the crawl space experts and see what our opinion was.

The crawl space didn’t appear to have any water issues, so our system design specialist was more than happy to only go over our energy saving options. Eventually, they settled on the Ultimate Energy Saver. When it comes to crawl space insulation, our SilverGlo walls are one of the best products around. Their silver reflective color radiates heat in the crawl space and reduces the amount lost through the walls. TerraBlock acts as both floor insulation and a moisture protectant, just in case. But the real key to the encapsulation was CleanSpace, a plastic vapor barrier designed to keep humidity and moisture out. With these products working together, this house really does have the ultimate energy saving combo, and we’re sure they’ll notice it on their next energy bill. 

We first started talking about encapsulating this crawl space a year ago. But after the owner decided to sell the home, there was little we could do about. Then fast forward to present day, where the new owner was still struggling with watering entering the crawl space during rains and found a copy of the previous proposal. Having just moved in, the new owner wanted this problem solved immediately. Since nothing about the crawl space had changed, the crew went right ahead with the installation.

Instead of the dirt floor and block walls that are seen in the before photo, the team installed the Energy Savings package, made up of the CleanSpace Barrier and SilverGlo Walls. The CleanSpace barrier is the white liner that is seen in the after photo and won’t allow moisture from the dirt floor to permeate through. SilverGlo will have a similar effect on the porous block walls, while also providing much-needed insulation. This waterproofing crawl space is now solved once and for all.

This homeowner was in the process of selling his house when he noticed standing water and a leak in his crawl space. Our system design specialist took a trip out to Douglas, MI to see what kind of help we could provide.

After hearing the possible options, the owner decided on a full crawl space encapsulation. The white liner seen in the after photo is CleanSpace, a plastic vapor barrier used for encapsulation. Used on both the walls and floor, the barrier will prevent moisture, humidity, and other common crawl space threats from entering. Underneath the liner is a drainage matting, which will be used to address the issue of standing water in the crawl space. The matting will keep water from puddling and direct flow to the newly installed SmartSump pump for discharge. A new fully protected crawl space should make selling this home much easier.

Puddles. The only word to describe the aftermath of a water leak in this basement. When water would enter the basement it’d collect in puddles across the floor, making it an area you’d want to avoid. At Ayers, we firmly believe that no basement should have water in it, let alone puddles. To fix this problem, our team got to work installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of this basement. This specially engineered waterproofing system is designed to collect water from the floor and walls. Since the piping sits on top of the footing, it won’t get clogged with mud. The installation of WaterGuard in this basement ensures that puddles are a thing of the past, keeping these floors nice and dry.
