The original foundation floor joists in Doug’s cottage were not enough to support the cottage after having done some renovation. He called our team when he noticed a lot of the strain was put on his flooring and causing it to shake. We installed SmartJack, a system produced to halt your sagging floors. The SmartJack system provides a permanent fix to these issues by using steel columns, threaded rods and a solid base. Installing this system usually takes less than a day and it provides immediate stabilization.

Walls were beginning to bow and crack in a customer’s basement so he called our team. We installed CarbonArmor, a wall reinforcing system. This system was constructed to repair damaged and bowing foundation walls. Both of these problems are serious and will only get worse over time. Chelsey began to have issues with her home and wasn't sure why. She decided to get a professional opinion and set up an inspection with Ayers. Dave watched the cracks in his basement walls grow and deepen over the years and had reached his breaking point. He researched his foundation wall repair options and called Ayers to learn more. We sent our specialists to his home to evaluate and recommend a solution. They suggested GeoLock wall anchors designed to stabilize cracking walls. A ground anchor is placed away from the home in solid, undisturbed soil, and the two anchors are connected by a steel rod to secure the wall in place. Dave is glad he called Ayers to get the job done!

You probably have seen basements with stone walls, because they are very popular in Michigan and Indiana. Well, unfortunately that is terrible for your foundation, they are hard to fix once they crack and crumble.  So we used Shotcrete on this home in Nappanee. We start by connecting the old wall to a framework that will help support the concrete being sprayed on the wall. We just build the new wall right on top of the other wall. This has fewer risk than lifting the entire house does and it is quicker and cheaper, making it easy for you. You won't even need to leave your home. This concrete will strengthen this home for many more years to come.
