Barb's home was experiencing some significant foundation settlement issues. Cracks in the foundation walls were clear around several sides of the home. One of the places where it was most evident was right in the front of the house. Even the vinyl siding above the crack was beginning to buckle. Our foundation team came in and installed a series of piers around the home to help support and lift the home back into position. Helical piers were the main tool used. To install helical peirs, we excavate a small hole around the outside of the home to expose the home's footer. We then drill these long steel piering shafts into the ground until they reach competent soil that can reliably support the weight of the home. In many cases, they are even able to lift the foundation back into its original position. We then fill the excavated area back in with as minimal damage to the lawn as possible. This fix is permanent and incredibly reliable. Already, the front of Barb's home looks a lot better!
Lynn and her siblings inherited their father's home and hoped to sell it in the near future, however, they were going to have trouble doing so until a bowed foundation wall in the basement was repaired. The horizontal crack in the wall is evidence of a problem that has evolved and grown worse over time. Our crew reinforced the floor joists above and put a series of 6 PowerBraces in place along the wall. The PowerBraces are a zinc-coated steel I-Beam that extend from the floor to the ceiling joist. They prevent the wall from bowing any further and help evenly support the weight of the home above. Another great feature is a unique tightening system at the top of the brace that allows the wall to possibly be straightened and brought back to its original position in time. The home can now be sold as any perspective buyers can rest easy knowing that a permanent fix is in place.
Kristine called our team because she was experiencing settlement issues in her home. Our team installed SmartJack to stop her sagging floors. Due to the moisture and soils in your crawl space, floors above crawl spaces are vulnerable. The SmartJack system is a permanent fix to these issues and provides immediate stabilization. It uses steel columns, threaded rods and a solid base to address any issues your crawl space may introduce to your floors.
The owner of this home contacted us because there was a horizontal and vertical crack in the cement block foundation wall. The wall was also starting to bow in. There was no water coming in and the crack was only visible from the inside not the outside. A stair step crack is the first sign that a wall is bowing inward and that means water can get inside. These cracks are caused when the soil outside the foundation expands and puts too much pressure on the wall.
To fix these cracks our team of experts installed Carbon Armor. Carbon fiber is a very high tensile strength material that is impossible to stretch. The straps are glued to the wall and it keeps them from bending or bowing more than they already have. Carbon fiber is a great option if the wall is bowing in at the middle not the top or bottom. It also works great if you don't have space on the outside of your home since it's all done inside.
Lisa was anxious to get her walls fixed up after noticing her basement walls were beginning to crack so she gave Ayers a call. After our crew conducted a free inspection it was settled that she needed CarbonArmor. CarbonArmor is a wall reinforcing system that is made of carbon fiber straps that are secured to the wall, preventing it from shifting any further. This system can easily be concealed if she wants a more finished, sleek look as well. Lisa was glad she got professional help so her home's support wasn't at stake!
