Homeowners in Ypsilanti, MI, had been experiencing cold floors throughout their home and musty smells they could not trace. After Zach completed a full inspection, he concluded that their issues were caused by the crawl space. He explained to the homeowners that their crawl space was not properly equipped and was causing the cold floors and musty smells. Zach proposed that, to keep these issues from getting worse, they should have CleanSpace® Crawl Space Encapsulation System installed. This would add a layer of protection throughout the crawl space, preventing water leakage, which had been the root of the problem. Once the homeowners agreed to this plan, a team led by Jim quickly and efficiently completed the project. The homeowners were pleased with the outcome and glad to have an enjoyable living space once again.

These homeowners were experiencing a strong, musty smell wafting throughout their home. They did a Google search and saw that it could be coming from underneath the home. That's when they checked their crawl space and indeed, it was very damp.

Our team encapsulated the crawl space and installed a dehumidifier to solve this problem. The dehumidifier will control the moisture and prevent mold from growing. The smell was ultimately eliminated and the homeowners were happy with their new dry crawl space!

This homeowner owns an old farmhouse with a fieldstone foundation in Maybee, Michigan. He noticed that the floors above the crawl space were sagging and bouncy, so he contacted HomeSpec.

When our specialist performed an inspection though, water and high-humidity were also discovered in the crawl space. To solve these issues, HomeSpec had to install a vapor barrier, dehumidifier and support posts. 

The SmartJack Support Posts were installed to raise and level the floors, and prevent them from sagging in the future. The crawl space was encapsulated with a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to seal off the walls and floor from moisture. The dehumidifier was essential for maintaining a healthy 55% relative humidity - preventing condensation and mold growth.

Our team waterproofed, insulated, and encapsulated the crawl space and installed and interior drainage system. 

The owner of this Plymouth, MI home intended to use the house as a rental property. However, the owner quickly became aware of a serious mold issue throughout the home and decided to call HomeSpec for a solution. To provide a clean, durable encapsulation in the crawl space, HomeSpec recommended installing the CleanSpace® Crawl Space Encapsulation System. To complete the project, HomeSpec proposed installing a Sanidry dehumidifier. This would remove any excess moisture from the crawl space, making the home a healthier living environment. Once the owner agreed to the repair plan, a team led by Kevin got to work. After the installations were complete, the owner was glad to have a clean, healthy home that they could now confidently use as a rental property.
