This homeowner was concerned about poor drainage causing water damage in their home. Design Specialist Greg B. from Woods Basement Systems inspected the area and recommended the ideal solution for their waterproofing problems.

Foreman Josh B. and his team installed WaterGuard drains to remove water from the home. WaterGuard is a French drain system that's installed under the floor slab for effective drainage without clogs or an unsightly appearance.

The room addition in this Brentwood, Missouri house was built off a slab foundation and water was getting in from the patio and wetting the carpet inside. Our TrenchDrain® collected the water and drained it away from the home.

We use laser transits to determine how far a foundation wall is laterally moving inward.  We can measure the inside wall and look for other visible signs of this problem.  Typically, a poured foundation wall will tip in at the top of the foundation.  See the 2nd photo of the exterior space between the siding and foundation wall of this O'Fallon, Missouri foundation.  The Foundation SupportWorks® Geo-Lock™ wall anchors system solves this problem and is cost effective to do.

Street creep causes a garage slab to force the rear wall of the garage foundation out.  The rear foundation wall either bows to the exterior like in the photo of this Sunset Hills, Missouri home, or inward into a basement; however, with limited damage, isolated to the 2nd picture shown, it could be determined that in this case it is a rebar crack.  Rebar that slips to the exterior of the concrete form when the foundation is being poured may later cause horizontal cracking like this.  Rebar cracks are more of a cosmetic repair than a structural damage issue.

A trick to help drain water from beneath the basement floor is to drill a large hole in the drain line of a floor drain, low enough to let water in from under the floor.  But if you are relying on that and do not also have a sump pump...ouch!  We retrofit our TripleSafe® sump pump system. After getting wet three times, this Lemay, Missouri homeowner didn't want that to happen ever again.  The TripleSafe® has three operating pumps, not all at the same time, and one is a battery backup pump for operating during a power outage, or if a breaker trips, water levels rise, or if one of the primary pump fails after years of being in service.
