These homeowners are a military family and are stationed in this area. Though they do not know how long they will be staying in this home, they knew they wanted to make sure there are no issues. They found water getting into their basement. They knew of Thrasher reputation, and have heard the great things about us, so they gave us a call. Wes Marshall, System Design Specialist, came out to meet them. Wes saw how the water was coming into the utility room. There was insulation up on the walls, and the homeowners did not want to take it down. Wes got the okay to remove a bit of it, and found mold on the other side. He recommended we use our CleanSpace to act as a barrier between the wall and basement. It is a waterproof, mold prevention tarp like material that is very sturdy. Water can trickle down the other side, keeping out of the basement and sending it into their waterproofing system. The homeowners were very excited with how the room now feels and looks. There is no doubt that they do not need to worry about their water and mold issues anymore! Check out the before and after photos below!
This homeowner in Larchwood, Iowa was tired of the damp, musty 'basement smell' that many homeowners are familiar with. They also worried that the moisture and humidity they were feeling was also encouraging mold growth. After tracing the source of the moisture to an adjoining crawl space, we sealed the space using CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls and floor of the crawl space, then installed a high-powered SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to maintain health humidity levels in the crawl space and basement. The homeowner was pleased with the result, and can now rest a little easier knowing that the basement and crawl space is clean, dry and safe.
This homeowner was experiencing problems with water in her basement, and the noticed a musty smell start to develop. After looking around for who could help her, she gave us a call for a free estimate.
We sent System Design Specialist Jimmy Hungerford to inspect the basement and determine where the water was getting in, as well as where the smell was coming from. Jimmy found that water was coming in the because of hydrostatic pressure against the foundation wall. The pressure forced water into cracks and weak spots in the foundation. The water then traveled through the drywall and onto the floor which also caused mold to grow behind the homeowner's drywall. Jimmy discussed the problem with the homeowner then demonstrated what solutions would fix this, and the homeowner couldn't wait to see what her finished product would look like. Our team used a TripleSafe Sump Pump System as well as WaterGuard Interior Drainage System and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to give water a proper drainage path and to seal off the moisture in the air. These systems will also help to prevent water from pooling in the basement in the future, as well as prevent mold from growing in the drywall.
The homeowner was quite pleased with her new waterproofing systems. Check out her new interior basement systems!
Kim and her son were having allergy issues and mold/humidity was a big concern. They noticed that they had sagging floors and the walls were bowing in which they believed might be some of the problem. Their house was built in the 1880s and they wanted to ensure that it is being taken care of. They were looking for better air quality and to repair their crawl space.
They decided to call us at Thrasher Foundation Repair and we were able to identify their issues and make a plan to resolve them. We encapsulated the crawl space with a product called CleanSpace. We added a Sedona Sani Dry dehumidifier to reduce humidity. We also added 5 GeoLock Anchors on the east wall to support the bowing walls.
This crawl space got completely transformed! After installing our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system, this homeowner is now protected from humidity, mold, and has improved air quality around the home.
