This customer was going to install new floors in their home. When Olympic Restoration Systems was contacted, the customer expressed their concerns for placing new floors before encapsulating their crawl space. They wanted to get a vapor barrier installed prior to the new floors being installed so that their new floors would not buckle from crawl space moisture issues. The flooring company also encouraged the homeowners to install a vapor barrier so that they would not have issues with the new floors cupping after installation, due to the humidity levels in their crawl space.

We applied Mold-X2 Cleaner and a Botanical disinfectant to all exposed wood within the crawl space. We regraded the soil to direct the water seepage to the newly installed sump system. We removed all debris from the crawl space. We installed two SmartSump pump systems with two liners, two cast iron pumps, two CleanPump stands, with two airtight lids, two airtight floor drains and a WaterWatch alarm system. We installed two UltraSump battery back-up pumping systems with a charging/control box that had an alarm and a 120-amp sealed maintenance-free battery. We installed an EZ Flow Pipe to capture the incoming water and direct it to the sump pump. We installed a CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. We installed a CleanSpace Drainage Matting under the CleanSpace liner. We installed two SaniDry Sedona dehumidifiers to keep the humidity low. We installed two small pumps to move the water from the dehumidifiers to the sump pumps or out of the crawl space. We installed two wireless sensors in the crawl space, which will send the temperature and the humidity readings to a small panel inside the house. A separate dedicated circuit/outlet for the sump pump and for the dehumidifier were installed. We installed an EverLast Door.
This homeowner called after he recently purchased a home in Van Alstyne, TX with a wet basement. He was not concerned with converting the basement to a living space, but he wanted to find a solution to keep the basement dry. When one of our System Designs Specialists, Ross, performed a free basement inspection and waterproofing estimate, he found many cracks in the foundation and walls that would allow water to come in. He also found an old, insufficient sump pump that was not able to keep up with the amount of moisture coming into the basement. Ross proposed a solution to the homeowner that included installing a WaterGuard track along the perimeter of the basement, lining the walls with a CleanSpace vapor barrier, installing a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, and replacing the old sump pump with a SmartSump sump pump. The homeowner was pleased with the estimate and proceeded with basement waterproofing from Olympic Restoration Systems.
