The restoration process for the foundation slab of this historic Phoenix home involves utilizing innovative techniques such as PolyLevel, a lightweight expansive polyurethane solution. This method effectively fills any existing voids and elevates the floor slab to its optimal level.

To commence the repair, small 3/8” holes are carefully drilled into the exterior concrete slab. Through these access points, polyurethane grout is then skillfully injected directly beneath the slab surface. This process efficiently raises the slab to its Highest Practical Maximum, ensuring structural integrity and stability for the entire foundation.

The concrete stem wall on this late 1970s home had a few areas of concrete cracking, flaking and crumbling.

This Phoenix, Arizona home had visible damage along the concrete stem wall, including spalling, cracks, and surface flaking—especially near the downspout area where moisture buildup is common. These signs of foundation wear are typical in the Valley, where extreme heat and clay-heavy soils can accelerate deterioration when moisture is introduced.

Our team removed the damaged section of concrete, installed new fiberglass rebar to prevent future rusting and corrosion, and then applied a heavy-duty patching compound to restore both strength and appearance. This before and after set highlights a stem wall repair project completed on July 18th, 2025. The corner section of the foundation was experiencing severe deterioration, requiring 11 feet of heavy stem wall repair along with an additional 52 feet of stem wall patching. The before photo shows flaking concrete and exposed rebar, while the after photo reveals a structurally reinforced and cleanly finished corner. This type of repair is critical in preventing further corrosion, cracking, and structural failure, especially in Arizona’s dry but reactive soil conditions.
