This Springfield, Illinois homeowner was having issues with water coming in from behind some wooden paneling in his basement. Because he used the space as a work area, the constant leaks were a big problem for him. A Woods Basement Systems team, after cutting away parts of the paneling, installed under-floor WaterGuard drains at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all leaks. 

There are several things that can be done outside to help protect the basement from leaks and floods. The most obvious of these things is to make sure the ground pitches away from the home, forcing water to flow away from the house rather than against it. 

Another option is to extend rain gutters and downspouts. This will collect the water and direct it further from the home. This was done for Sharon T. in Springfield, IL. as an extra measure to keep water away from the home's foundation.

Michael B. was able to install an underground line that connected to the downspout and carried water further away from the home. When he was done installing the pipe, he replaced the turf to hide the line from sight. Now the home has that extra layer of water protection outside without ugly pipes and extensions sitting on top of the yard.

To fix the sinking and unleveled concrete slab issues, PolyLevel™ was used. By drilling pea-sized holes into the concrete slabs and injecting polyurethane foam underneath, the slabs were able to be lifted and leveled out as the foam expanded. The foam will become rock solid within hours, so the homeowners will able to drive on it later that same day. Now, the homeowner can rest easy knowing their driveway is in great shape!
